1, fortified the success of the Reasonable Doubt. In 1997, the autobiographic disc In My Lifetime, Vol. along with the theme of gangster life made the whole New York talk about Jay-Z. Having found a reputable distributor Priority Records (which later would become Def Jam, headed by Jay-Z himself), the artist recorded his debut album Reasonable Doubt in 1996. Jay-Z was the member of the hip-hop command Original Flavor for a short time, but then instead of signing to a major recording company, he decided to start his own label Roc-a-Fella Records. The colleague told to the fresher some of his experience about show business and advised what to do in order to become prominent in rap circles. Once, when Jay-Z was wondering around the streets, he accidentally ran across a rapper with small fame called Big Jaz, or Jay-O. He started rapping being a teenager, and in the neighborhood, people called him Jazzy, or Jay-Z. So the boy soon became independent and learned how to take care of himself. His father left the family when Sean was just a kid, and they were constantly short of money. Give me quality over quantity anyday.Īn informed citizen is a dangerous one.Sean Corey Carter, professionally famous as Jay-Z, was born and brought up in Brooklyn, New York. Bless Up Jay & Bey! A true power couple no matter how you want to spread it! Best investment I've made for a 10 track album just a shade over 30 minutes. This is the result from the maturation process we must all go through and Sean was bold enough to put it on wax. This is GROWN FOLKS HIPHOP (40+) just to be clear. Keep in mind, if we don't learn from our histories we are doomed to repeat the same mistakes. So many have stated his message has been presented to the public before and it is nothing new. He's laying the foundation for his seeds to prosper in the future. Finally, 'Legacy' is his feather in his cap. 'Marcy Me' is a tribute song for the projects Sean grew up in. 'Moonlight' is a tale of the streets and far more than a jab at the Oscar fiasco. The fact he collaborated with Bey is a real bonus. 'Family Feud' is another favorite as he realizes the importance of family, blood and those who look like you. This track is on constant repeat.there is a video called the 'Footnotes to 4:44' on Facebook it is a MUST SEE. Jay said what every real man that has made a mistake for jeopardizing his family over some immature actions and cherishes his life partner and children. The title track '4:44' brings so much joy to my heart. 'Caught Their Eyes', well, I'm still digesting this track but love the groove. 'Smile' is one of my favorite tracks as it reminds us the price we pay for ascension and yet we smile.Love the shout out to his mom. 'The Story of O.J.' is too complex to describe in full detail but he drops some gems about investment strategies regarding community and personal assets. 'Kill Jay Z' can be interpreted as he retires 'Jay' for Sean to become the multifaceted individual he is.Husband, partner, father, artist, investor and businessman. I was compelled to purchase the entire album.I'm not a true fan of Jay Z but I would guess this is his magnum opus. In a time where the visual is just as important I was blown away by this track as well. As the video 'The Story of O.J.' became a viral sensation, I could barely process that audiovisual masterpiece then Sean Carter aka Jay Z drops the video and single '4:44'.
